On December 12, 2007, Cpl. Joshua C. Blaney was killed by an IED in Afghanistan while serving with the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment (Airborne), 173rd Airborne Brigade.

He was 25 and is survived by his mother, Dianne B. Massey and father, Charles E. Blaney.

A special thank you to the friends and families of the fallen service men and women who invited me to photograph their grief and their efforts to continue life after suffering such loss.
